As we kick off the unofficial start of summer, KGSA is kicking off a new project!
KGSA’s 120 boarding students consume A LOT of water for drinking, bathing, cooking, washing clothes, and using the bathroom. Currently, KGSA pays a private tanker $1,376 EVERY single week to deliver 40,000 liters of water to the school. Water that is expensive, water that is sometimes late, water that isn’t necessarily clean. NO MORE!
YESTERDAY we started drilling a well to provide quality water to not only the KGSA girls and staff, but the whole community of Makina where KGSA is located. This important water project has been a year in the making. Consulting with engineers, pitching the proposal, securing permits, and now finally drilling!

This project wouldn’t be possible without a generous sponsorship in honor of Tom Liguori. Thank you, Liguori Family!
Shout out to the Rotary Club of Lansing, Michigan (much love to my home state) and the Rotary Club of Upper Eden in the United Kingdom for providing both technical and financial support.
Kudos to my colleague Director Claris who relentlessly pursued all the local permits – it was a lot of work!
Together, we make a great team to bring this water project to life, because WATER IS LIFE.

Grateful for this wonderful community that always shows up to care for the KGSA girls’ essential needs.
