As the Kibera Girls Soccer Academy celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, we are thrilled to share some exciting news.
We are proud to announce that we have been selected as a 2026 Together Women Rise Grantee. Through this partnership, the KGSA Foundation will receive a $50,000 grant over the next two years to support the Kibera Girls Soccer Academy’s strategic planning.

This is a significant milestone for our organization at an important moment. During these challenging times when gender equity is being attacked across the globe and foreign aid is being cut, partnerships like this matter more than ever. We are deeply grateful for this new collaboration.
The KGSA Foundation is one of 12 organizations selected in the 2026 cohort, serving women and girls around the world. More than 600 organizations applied for funding, making this recognition especially meaningful.

Together Women Rise is a powerful community of women and allies dedicated to global gender equality. It has hundreds of local chapters across the U.S. where members come together to learn about and advocate for gender equality issues, give grants to organizations that empower women and girls in low-income communities in the Global South, and build community to forge meaningful connections with each other and with women around the world.
KGSA will be Together Women Rise’s featured grant in July 2026. At that time, the organization will spotlight our work with an interview featuring KGSA Foundation Executive Director Katy Troyer and KGSA Director Claris Omondi, along with a special video from the Kibera Girls Soccer Academy.
As we celebrate 20 years of educating girls in Kibera, this partnership is a powerful reminder that our global community continues to stand beside these students and their dreams.
We can’t wait to share more this July.
