February is often called the month of love and friendship, and today I’m feeling both in a big way.
We’re excited to officially launch the KGSA Class of 2025 Higher Education Scholarship Fund. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to support 32 remarkable young women as they take their next steps toward university, college, and vocational training.
Thanks to early generosity from our anchor supporters, with a heartfelt thank you to the Denver Southeast Rotary Club and to my aunt and uncle leading the way, we’ve already raised $6,500. That early belief means everything. Now, I’m hoping you’ll help us carry this momentum forward.
For the second year in a row, the KGSA Class of 2025 posted outstanding KCSE results:
- All 32 girls passed their national exams.
- Fifteen qualified for a bachelor’s degree.
- Seven qualified for an associate’s degree.
- The remaining students are eligible for vocational training.
One of those students is Valary Akinyi, the top KCSE performer in her class with a B+ mean grade. Valary joined KGSA four years ago with big dreams and a deep desire to contribute to a better society. At school, she thrived academically and found confidence through extracurriculars like the catering club, where she developed practical life skills alongside her studies. Today, Valary dreams of becoming a lawyer, fascinated by Kenya’s legal system and determined to help others access justice. She often says she did not walk this path alone, and she’s right. Her success reflects the power of steady support, caring teachers, and a community that never stopped believing in her potential.
This month, as we celebrate love and friendship, I invite you to show love in one tangible way by helping a KGSA graduate like Valary step confidently into her future, by making a gift to the Class of 2025 Higher Education Scholarship Fund.
