What We’re Grateful For

You know those weeks where everything feels like a lot—your inbox is overflowing, your to-do list somehow grew overnight, and even your coffee needs coffee? The last three months have felt like that at KGSA. Term one was packed with activities, and now the school is on break. As the school staff and students enjoy time at home with their families this month, we wanted to share some of the small and beautiful moments amidst the hustle and bustle of Term One that remind us why we do this work.

Here are three things we’re especially grateful for:

1. KGSA’s first ever national qualifier 🏅
Sophomore Prudence qualified for the Long Jump Nationals, representing not only KGSA and Kibera but also all of Nairobi County!

2. KGSA’s own Rosie the Riveter💪🏾
Twelve girls from the Class of 2023 are almost finished with their vocational programs including Valentine who is training as a mechanic.

3. KGSA wins STEM award🔬
Our students competed in a Physics and Biology Symposium and ranked first out of 12 schools in Kibera!

These moments show the strength, determination, and talents of the KGSA students. They prove that girls in Kibera can excel in many ways – academics, sports, and vocationally. Your investment in girls’ education is having a tremendous impact. Thanks for your continued support.
